You thought you were here for a workwear fashion blog post about an amazing office chic outfit. But, this is actually a story about…how I ripped my pants.
Just kidding. Kind of. More on that in just a minute.
I got this Gianni Bini white bodysuit and pair of striped wide leg pants when I shopped the Dillard’s New Year’s Day Sale. The two pieces were less than $30 total. I REPEAT, LESS THAN $30. Point is, if you missed the sale this year, mark your calendars for next year. An extra 50% off already reduced prices (up to 65% already reduced) really can’t be beat.
Bodysuits are Back
I remember wearing bodysuits as a little girl and I hated them. Oh, how the tides have turned. This is the first bodysuit I’ve bought (yes, I know I’m a little late hopping on this train), but I am obsessed!
Tired of your shirt riding up, messily bunching up in all the wrong places? Well, run out right now to the nearest [insert practically any clothing store that sells on-trend pieces] and buy you a bodysuit! Personally, I had been on the hunt for a good, basic white bodysuit and this one did the trick.
Unfortunately, mine is sold out, but Red Dress has one that is pretty darn similar (you can see it here). And because I just can’t get enough, here are a few more bodysuits that I have had my eye on.
Wide Leg Pants
You have to love a good pair of high-waisted wide leg pants. They make for the chicest workwear outfits and can accentuate all the right features. A pair like mine, with stripes, are also so slimming and had me feeling like a boss all day. Until I busted out of them.
Yes, we are now getting to the ‘ripped pants’ story.
So, if you do decide to purchase these pants, which are STILL on sale here, I recommend sizing up. I purchased a small, which fit in the waist ok and seemed fine when I was standing up.
But, people also sit down, you know.
So, I was at work, looking fabulous when I looked down and noticed that it looked like the pants were pulling slightly at the seam in the front. The material is lightweight and definitely not stretchy. “It’ll be fine,” I told myself. Just a little pulling, I can reinforce the stitching once I get home.
No such luck.
About halfway through the work day, I sat down one too many times, looked down and saw a 4 inch hole where the seam had finally pulled apart.
Fortunately, I don’t live far from where I work, so I ran home to change. But, not before I stopped to take some bomb pictures of this amazing outfit.
Yes, there was a hole in the front of these pants when I took these pictures. But you gotta do what you gotta do for the ‘gram.
Missed that the first time, didn’t you?
Anyways, I still love these pants, even if I only got to wear them once. I just wish I’d sized up. Also, lesson learned: Sit down when trying on clothes.
