No, really. What are you looking for? Because whatever it is, you’ll find it. Take a look in the mirror. What are you searching for in the reflection? If you’re looking for flaws you’ll find them. Funny thing is, if you look for beauty, you’ll find that too.
Whatever we set our mind and focus on, the words we say and actions we take…they will dictate what we find in life. You can’t expect to spend all of your time worrying and playing the “what-if” game and expect to find peace. You can’t spend all of your time focusing on your “flaws” and expect to feel beautiful. You can’t constantly point out what is wrong with someone and expect to have a good relationship (even when you are trying to “help” them).
You will find what you are looking for.
It’s why the Bible tells to seek after God with all of our heart and to think on things that are right, pure, and lovely.
Sometimes people feel as though God is a mystery that can’t be solved. People spend years looking for answers to questions they aren’t even sure how to ask. While I agree that we, as humans, will never FULLY understand God and all of His ways, He’s given us some pretty simple instructions. If we want to find God, we have to seek Him with all of our heart. Try not to over-complicate this one. If you spend your time, energy and effort looking for God, you’ll find Him. And, we get a specific list of topics to focus our thoughts on. Because our thoughts turn to words, which turn to actions.
I don’t say this to try and give you a list of ‘rules to live by’, but to help you understand how to find what you want in your life. If you want God, seek Him. If you want to fail, keep thinking you’ll never succeed. Life doesn’t have to be something that just happens to you, so start taking an active role in determining what you find within it.
