Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I am so excited! Craig and I are headed to Savannah, Georgia to spend the weekend with his family. We don’t get to see all of his family members very often, so I am looking forward to some quality family time and amazing food.
I have so many reasons to be thankful. I serve an awesome God who gave me an amazing husband. We have the cutest furkids and have had some great things happen in our careers. I truly am so blessed. As we approach the holidays, I’m reflecting a lot on being thankful and maintaining an attitude of gratitude in all situations (because life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows).
The verse above from 1 Chronicles is one of my favorites because it is so simple, yet contains such immense power. The Lord’s love endures FOREVER. As in, it will never end. There is nothing you can do, nothing I can do, to stop the love of God. Now THAT is something to be thankful for.
The second verse from Philippians is another one of my favorites, because I have struggled with worrying for a long time. Worrying about things I can change, things I can’t, and everything in between. I constantly have to remind myself of this verse and remember to bring everything to God in exchange for His peace (and the fact that this really works is amazing). This week, the words “with thanksgiving” stuck out to me as we approach the holiday. It’s a good reminder that even when we are in the midst of our most difficult situations, we should be thankful. Because even when you feel like there’s nothing left to be thankful for, remember that the Lord’s love endures forever. What are you thankful for this week?
