Hello beautiful babes!
Today I’m sharing with you how I do my everyday makeup. It’s a nice natural look with neutral colors that you could wear with pretty much anything.
I know what you’re thinking. “Victoria, I mean your makeup is OK, but you aren’t Jaclyn Hill or anything.”
Ok, ok I know. But I’ve told you before I don’t claim to be an expert. So, this is a makeup tutorial from a non-expert makeup lover FOR non-experts.
DISCLAIMER: I am also not a video tutorial expert, which unfortunately is quite evident from the video below. But, bear with me, practice makes perfect, right?
Step 1: The Base
I have been using Too Faced – Born This Way foundation for the last couple weeks and I like the coverage it has been giving me. I’ve found applying it with a beauty blender works better than a foundation brush for this particular foundation. For a long time I used Lancome’s 24 Hour foundation and loved it, but I just wanted to try something new.
Step 2: Eyes & Brows
I fill in my brows with Ulta Brow Tint in the medium shade. I LOVE this product because I am not really good at doing my brows yet, but with blonde eyebrows I have to do something. Or, I just look like I have no eyebrows, WHICH IS HOW I WAS LIVING MY LIFE UNTIL THIS YEAR. WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL ME? The tint has a tiny brush so you can just sweep it on your brows and not have to worry about drawing any harsh lines.
I made the video below to try and show you how I do my eyeshadow and liner, but it’s more to just show the process. There was a lot more applying (especially the lighter shade) and blending that went on after I ended the video, but I didn’t want to torture you too much. Just remember: blend, blend blend.
Here are the products I used in the video:
Step 3: Finish the Face
After my eyeshadow, I like to apply concealer again to make sure the area under my eyes stays bright and clean of any eyeshadow. Then, I use the Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette (also from my Boxycharm box) to highlight some areas and add bronzer. I apply the lightest shade (Halo) under my eyes and to the tops of my cheekbones. I also swipe some on my chin and middle area of my forehead. Then I used the bronzer shade Carat and applied it in a C shape from the side of my forehead around under my cheeks. Be sure to use a big fluffy brush because you don’t want the bronzer too concentrated in one spot.
Finally, I added a little blush from a Lancome eye and face palette I got a while ago, but any blush will do.
Step 4: Mascara and Lipstick
I always do my mascara and lipstick last for some reason. Even though, I think it would make more sense to apply the mascara before I ‘finished my face’. I don’t have to make sense all the time, ok??? The lipstick, I love, as you can see from the fact that it is almost gone. It’s a great pinkish nude shade from Lancome called Love It.
I have been blessed with short, nothing-to-write-home-about lashes, so I use a mascara primer and volumizing mascara to try and get some kind of length. For days when I’m doing full makeup, I will also apply a fiber mascara on top of my regular mascara.
And that’s it!
It takes me about 15-20 minutes to do this look on an average day. See my finished look below and let me know if you try it out! Also, send any tips for lengthening lashes my way. I’ve got to figure out something!
